COMPREHENSIVE IMPLEMENTATION
A few examples of Implementation, of our Environmental Management System:
- An inventory of all flexible hoses on board. This does not allow unregulated usage, thus proving difficult to make illegal connections, and in turn, precludes the vessel from being fined.
- Ship specific sealing program of all flanges on susceptible pipelines where illegal connections may be possible, identified on a specially made ship-specific pipeline diagram. Again, beneficial to owners, as making of illegal connection is prevented, and in turn, huge fines are avoided.
- Easy identification of areas around Emergency valves and direct bilge suctions. This prevents a ship staff from negligently opening these valves, and erroneously causing pollution overboard. This simple step saves the ship-owner a lot of money in fines.
- Various Special Fittings on very crucial Pollution Monitoring Equipment and Pollution Prevention Equipment are being used throughout our fleet. To name a few simple ones, lockable valves, coloured plastic chains, stainless steel seals, etc., etc. These also, in their own way, prevent illegal discharges being conducted and subsequent fines from being imposed.
